Ten years ago, I was initially drawn to the practice of yoga for it's physical benefits.   It didn't take long to notice the positive effect it was having on my attitude in life.

I truly believe we hold emotion within the physical body.  You'll often hear me say, "our issues lie in our tissues!"  Through asana we can move that energy out of the body and peel the layers of tension we create within.  By doing so, we find our sense of self, a grounding, a healthier body both physically and emotionally.

I've had many teachers that have inspired me along the way, my students included.  I continue to be a student, believing there is never enough to learn, to read, to share.  I'm fueled by the sustainability of the practice, the prana I feel under my skin after a practice, the community, and most importantly that through yoga I have become a better person for the people that depend on me daily.

It doesn't matter how or why you were called to a mat.  What matters is how you show up.  With integrity, self respect, and passion to learn more about yourself.  Let your limiting beliefs soar out the door as you find your potential on the mat.  Take what you learn on the mat, and apply it off the mat.   Flexibility, strength, and serenity are all aspects of ourselves we can cultivate on and off our mats.  Within all of us, we are capable of finding peace.  My aspiration is to bring myself closer to this through yoga and meditation.  I'd love to guide my students to a better understanding of what that means to them.
