I have been teaching a Bikram influenced style of hot yoga for two years and have recently attained my Ashtanga certification.  My teaching style is such that I try to teach from a place of sensation.  When I practice, I try to find ways to articulate a posture based upon what I feel in my body.  I do this because Life is a felt experience, and so too, should your yoga practice!  I learned this from my teacher, Hart Lazer.  In our busy lives, where there are so many distractions and a constant risk of sensory overload, it is very easy to forget this…I did.  I would wake up every morning and run through the routine of my day.  Days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into years.  Aside from momentous occasions, I had few memories to look back upon.  I was on auto-pilot.

My yoga mat was a safe place for me to start to become more aware and to reconnect with the sensations in my body.  Building this comfort level on my mat, has allowed me to extend this presence to other parts of my life.  Thankfully, I am no longer waiting for something to happen, because now I am aware that something is always happening.
